Is Yahoo going to count April 1st (Mets-Cards) Stats for fantasy? The were showing the stats in gametracker last night, but I don't see them carried over to today. Whats the deal??
In the event of double header in Yahoo Fantasy Baseball Public leagues to stats for both games count? Example today the Mets play Atlanta at 1pm and 7pm. Does the combined at bats for both games count in the league or just the first game?
Is Derek Jeter a player based on stats, not on if you like him or his team(The Yankees)? Based on his stats he good? This is basically because my freind is a Mets fan and he only hates Jeter because he is on the Yankees. I like Jeter because the Yankees have always been my favorite team, I grew up with him and his stats are amazing. He plays baseball the way a player should. Not very rude and a nice guy. Please comment and share your opion.
who thinks the mets stink this year? in the last few games their offense has picked up, but last year at this point beltran, delgado, and wright all had like 70 rbis and this year they only have like 45 each. their winning percentage is below 600, they only have one hitter whose hitting above 300 (reyes, who's really overrated), they have not hit one grand slam this year. theyre risp stats are atrocious. they get slaughtered like flies by the braves everytime they play each other. delgado has not been hitting since april 1st. i'm a mets fan, but really!
Who has the better pitching staff...the Padres or Mets? So I'm getting into an arguement with one of my co-workers and he states the Mets "Glavine, Maine, Perez, and Hernandez" are better then Peavy, Young, Maddux, Wells, and Germano. How about some of you be the judges of this. I told him the Mets pitching staff is no where close to the Pads. And he states the Mets have the better bullpen then the Pads, which is another joke! I told him the stats speak for themselves
Baseball Fans: What do you think about players predicting before the season starts? I think they should not do that let the Stats speak for themselfs. Like example Beltran said "that the mets are the team to beat" What do you think
Barry Bonds to the Mets!!!? The Mets entered the season expecting Moises Alou to start for them in Leftfeild but has been on the DL for much of the season. Isnt it safe to say Bonds would be more productive then Alou. Including in the outfield. Bonds is only 2yrs older the Alou and has won 8 gold gloves to Alou's Zero gold gloves. So he must still have some natuarl insticnt at the Posotion. I'm a Mets fan and if it helps win a World Series for first time in 22 years. Im all for it. As a fan of a basball team isnt that what its all about for you for instence if your a Cubs can you could care less how it happens right? Barry Bonds Stats in 2007 Avg. 276, 94 Hits, 28 Hr, 66 Rbi He is also only nedds 65 Hits w/ 67 games left after the half to get to 3,000 Hits. As a fan wouldnt you like to see that to being that it's all hand eye cordination in your teams uniform. And 4 rbi's from 2,000.
Will the Mets Cards Opening Day game be counted in Yahoo! Fantasy Week 1? I know it's on a Sunday and the week generally starts on Monday, so will this game count for Week 1's stats or no? Try to provide source, please.

Why does David Wright get paid more than Jose Reyes? David Wright was signed to a 6-year contract worth 55 million. http://newyork.mets.mlb.com/news/press_releases/press_release.jsp?ymd=20060806&content_id=1596768&vkey=pr_nym&fext=.jsp&c_id=nym Jose Reyes was signed to a 4-year contract worth 23.25 million. http://newyork.mets.mlb.com/news/press_releases/press_release.jsp?ymd=20060803&content_id=1591389&vkey=pr_nym&fext=.jsp&c_id=nym Is it only based on stats alone or are there other determining factors?
does pitching win in the playoffs? My friend continues to tell me the Mets and Yankees are doomed because they don't have the pitching. Is that true? Any stats available? Thanks in advance Nick
Granderson 20d-20t-20hr-20sb. BIG DEAL? How rare is it? Jimmy Rollins too. A great feat like everyone is acting??? Look at this: "Granderson"(DET)- 36(d)_22(t)_22(HR)_23(sb)_ 72rbi-136SO "Jimmy Rollins"(PHI)- 36(d)_18(t)_27(HR)_36(sb)_ 85rbi-only 76SO 2 more triples and Rollins has an even more impressive season with more rbi's and about half as many strikeouts. I think he is one of the most under-rated players in baseball even though everyone knows he's good. Really, I was just wondering how rare it really was to get 20 of each of them stats in a single season???? anyone know???? Another Q: Why can't the Mets beat the Phillies? Imagine if the Phils wind up making the playoffs. Don't be like this "silvo" guy. At least try to answer the question. How rare is it? Who has done it before? I don't remember anyone ever doing it but I know there had to be some peoplee back in the day. the first 2 guys who answered this Q didn't even friggn answer the question what the hell please give them a thumbs down.
WHere can I download a baseball stat book software online that has a free license FOR LIFE (no paying for life im sick and tired of finding ones that have a free trial and then i have to uninstall it cuz I DONT WANNA PAY...please help me cuz I have season tix to the Mets and coach a little league team
What happened to Nomar Garciaparra? He went from being one of the best hitters and overall players in baseball (and one of the BIG 3 SHORTSTOPS, along with Jeter and Arod), winning Rookie of the Year, two batting championships and being a stud for the Red Sox to becoming an average, forgettable player. This reminds me of what happened to Carlos Baerga after he got traded to the Mets. Did Fenway's green monster inflate his stats, injuries, or what?
baseball sold out its fans? TV Sports Extra Innings Throws a Curve, and Fans Cry Foul Sign In to E-Mail or Save This Print Reprints Share DiggFacebookNewsvinePermalink By RICHARD SANDOMIR Published: January 26, 2007 Jeanette Bottone cried last week when she heard that the Extra Innings package of major league baseball games that she has diligently watched on cable since 2002 was about to migrate to DirecTV in April. Skip to next paragraph M.L.B. Schedule/Scores Standings: A.L. | N.L. Wild Card Standings Stats: A.L. | N.L. Team Reports Yankees Schedule/Results Individual Stats | Team Roster | History Discuss the Yankees Mets Schedule/Results Individual Stats | Team Roster | History Discuss the Mets “It’s really a big part of our summertime,” she said by telephone from her condominium in Wellesley, Mass. “But that didn’t last long. And then I felt angry.” Bottone and her husband bought Extra Innings to keep track of the Yankees. Her father, Lou, was a minor leaguer in the Yankee system in the 1930s. “But it’s exciting to watch the other teams if the games are important, and because there are certain players I like,” she said, adding, “I’m sad, but it won’t really hit me until those channels won’t have the games.” Bottone is part of the resentment expressed on fan forums, blogs and inside my e-mail inbox against a pending seven-year, $700 million deal that would shift Extra Innings this season into an exclusive arrangement with DirecTV after five seasons of being available to 75 million cable, DirecTV and Dish homes. A writer on the Cards Fan Union blog said, “I feel as though I’ve just had my teeth worked on with a drill that entered my body through my big toe.” On the umpbump.com fan site, a screed against the deal was titled, “MLB Only Needs 700 Million Reasons to Tell You to Drop Dead.” The deal would also make DirecTV the exclusive home of the 24/7 baseball channel that will launch in 2009 — but that is not the concern of the devotees who will be disenfranchised by cable’s and Dish’s loss of Extra Innings if the agreement is completed. It will be difficult for them to see much besides Major League Baseball getting $30 million more a year than what InDemand, the consortium that distributed Extra Innings to cable systems, bid to renew it. This is a case of taking something that a part of the fan base has grown accustomed to and selling it to a higher bidder, which is available to 15 million subscribers, less than one-fifth the cable universe. And it raises these simple questions: Why anger any part of your fan base? Why marginalize any part of your fan base? “It’s shocking to me because it’s a move to have less of an audience and less coverage nationally,” said Dan Quinn, a graduate student from Newton, Mass., who roots for the Yankees. Without Extra Innings, he added, “I’ll be stuck watching the Red Sox.” It will not assuage those fans with cable or Dish, who should expect to see their Extra Innings ties broken, that they will still be able to watch hundreds of games a year on local stations, regional sports networks, Fox, ESPN and TBS. They have been treated to a somewhat privileged view of baseball from 10 Extra Innings channels — and now that will be taken away. This situation is different from that of Sunday Ticket, the package of CBS’s and Fox’s Sunday afternoon, out-of-market N.F.L. games that are available only on DirecTV, which pays $700 million annually for it. Cable subscribers never had it, and while they may covet it, they can’t complain that they once had it but that it was sold to DirecTV, because DirecTV has always had it. There will be only two options for discarded Extra Innings fans. They can switch from cable to DirecTV, which is impossible if landlords or condominium boards prohibit dishes, or if their exposure is wrong to snare the signal. Baseball is counting on fans who lack any building or geographic hindrances to change to DirecTV. It may be right, even if it has to wait for the anger of fans to dissipate. But Mark Requet, the co-owner of a weekly newspaper in rural Shelbina, Mo., said he would not switch from Dish to DirecTV, even if it means curtailing his ability to watch Mets games, his sole reason for buying Extra Innings for the first time last year. “I’m pretty satisfied with Dish and I’ve heard other people say they have trouble with DirecTV in bad weather,” he said. The second option is subscribing to a seasonlong package of mlb.tv, the video streaming arm of mlb.com, for $79.95, nearly $100 less than last year’s suggested retail price for Extra Innings for cable subscribers. It requires a broadband connection, which is increasingly common; there are 57 million subscribers, through cable and telephone connections, according to the Telecommunications Industry Association, a trade group. Bottone said that mlb.tv is her backup, but she must go to her husband’s office a town away to watch. “But it doesn’t work that well,” she said. Even with planned upgrades to mlb.tv’s video quality, watching a game on a computer screen is a different experience than taking it in on a TV screen, which allows viewers to be more than three feet away. Yes, newer televisions allow for a relatively easy connection from the computer, but the quality of the picture degrades in the transfer. And streaming can be bedeviled by breakdowns and choppy pictures. Baseball isn’t talking for now. How it eventually explains the deal — and tries to temper fan discontent — will be fascinating. Fantasy Baseball - Oliver Perez or Jason Bergmann? Who should I pick up? Bergmann's stats. have been something like 3.92 ERA over this season combined with the 2nd half of last, while Perez is being inconsistent again but still has good potential and pitches for a winner (Mets). With Bergmann pitching so well, and it not looking fluky, who should I pick up as my last SP? Bergmann or Perez?
Wait, wait, wait--if there is a 4-way tie...? between PHL, NYM, SD, and COL, I think everyone agrees the Mets play PHL for the division and SD plays COL. Now some have been saying that the winner of SD/COL would play the loser of PHL/NYM for the wildcard, but I think if PHL lost versus the Mets they would be eliminated, here's why: Any game 163 is an offical regular season game, not a playoff in terms of stats, so whoever loses PHL/NYM would have a qorse winning percentage than either COL or SD. So there wouldn't be any game 164 between the NL east loser and SD/COL. If I am wrong, show me some proof. NYC Fan is exactly right, and I am wrong. 10 points coming shortly. Thanks.
Do you agree with the sportswriters in choosing Ryan Howard of the Philadephia phillies as the MVP in the N.L. Phillies' Howard Named National League MVP Star Follows 2005 Rookie Award With 58 HR Season By RONALD BLUM AP Sports NEW YORK (Nov. 20) - Ryan Howard had a season that defied convention, one that made him only the second player voted Rookie of the Year and Most Valuable Player in consecutive years. Why did they choose Howard? His 58 homers to Pujols' 49, and his 149 RBI to Pujols' 137. That's where the advantages for Howard end. Pujols is better in nearly every single other significant category. See for yourself: Player AVG OBP SLG VORP WARP EqA A. Pujols .331 .431 .671 85.4 12.9 .357 R. Howard .313 .425 .659 81.5 9.4 .346 The first three categories are well-known rate stats, and clearly show Pujols was the superior player in 2006. The main knock on Pujols in the MVP race was that he didn't play as many games as Howard. Houston 's Lance Berkman was third with 230 points, followed by the New York Mets ' Carlos Beltran (211), Cabrera (170) and Washington 's Alfonso Soriano (106) - who agreed to a $136 million, eight-year contract with the Chicago Cubs on Monday.
MLB 08 The Show in Career Mode any stories? My guy is a Left-Handed First basemen for the New York Mets. He has won the Rookie of the Year Award in the 2008 Season. He won the MVP Award 10 Seasons. He is a 8 time Gold Glove Winner and has never had an error. He stayed with the Mets his whole career. He never went into the minors. He went into the Hall of Fame. Ended with 10,001 At-Bats; 3,456 Hits; and a .326 Batting Average for his career. Finished off his career with 990 Homeruns.
national league mvp? do you honestly think jimmy rollins deserved to win??? im not just saying this cuz im a mets fan but COME ONN wright had better stats in almost everything AND he was a big team leader i undertsnad if wright didnt win cuz the mets werent in the play offs but then matthew holliday should have won!!! i am serriously pissed about this because i strongly feel that rollins did not deserve that award! i understand what your all saying about rollins but 1)he did NOT have the best batting averages escpecially compared to holliday2) no one can say one specific person plays the "hardest possition" 3) i honestly dont think he carried the team and was that much of a leader. im going to admit it the phillies ARE a good team but they have a lot of good players that not one of them COULD carry the team. also, there were definatly other team leaders. im not saying rollins isnt good im just saying that out of the players nominated, he wasnt and isnt the best. and id hate to show you this but heres basically proof: http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/7470516?MSNHPHMA i feel like he won more becuase of his fielding but okkk thats the gold glove awardd! he did not have the greatest hitting year no doubt about it and Wright or Holliday should have won that award!
Ryan Howard= NL MVP? now that ryan howard has his swing back i think that he is going to win his second straight MVP award. His stats are amasing. With all that injury time and his bad start he has still managed to become the leader in RBI's and 3rd in HR's. Only one HR behind second place. I at least least think that a phillie has to win the award. Ryan Howard or Chase Utley. And i am one of those annoing Mets fan so i really must have strong feelings.
Cole Hamels v Johan Santana? Since so many people seem to be jumping on the Santana and Mets bandwagon and proclaiming the Mets champions before the season even starts, I thought I'd do a comparison of the Phillies top pitcher with Santana. These numbers are from last season. Tell what what you think. Santana: Games 33, Record 15-13, ERA 3.33, K 235, BB 52, Hits 183, Runs 88, HR 33 Hamels: Games 28, Record 15-5, ERA 3.39, K 177, BB 43, Hits 163, Runs 72, HR 25 In order to have a better comparison, I took Hamels' averages and added them to his stats. Here is what it would look like if he had not missed a month to injury and pitched 33 games. At the very least he would have been 15-10. K 203, BB 53, Hits 193, Runs 87, HR 30 As the numbers show, Hamels is right there with Santana, and Hamels is still developing as a major league pitcher, so let's not jump to any hasty conclusions about the Mets. I'm sure looking forward to a Hamels/Santana match up this season. Leadoffman0569, what if Santana is on the decline in his career, while Hamels is on the rise? There definitly alot of intangibles, but the fact that Hamels is an all-star pitcher cannot be refuted. OK, since it's been brought up more than once that is was Santana's worse year and Hamels best year, I thought I'd compare stats again. But I would like to add that Hamels has only had one complete year. His first complete year and his numbers are already similar to Santana. How can anyone argue that Santana is somehow better when he is clearly on the decline and Hamels is on the rise? Here are some more stat comparisons from both players rookie years. Hamels: Games 23, Innings Pitched 132.1, Record 9-8, ERA 4.08, K 145, BB 48, Hits 117, Runs 66, HR 19 Santana: Games 30, Innings Pitched 86, Record 2-3 ERA 6.49, K 64, BB 54, Hits 102, Runs 64, HR 11 Even if you add averages, Hamels numbers are better. Here are Santana's probable numbers if he had pitched the same amount of innings as Hamels his rookie year. Both players started all their games rookie year. K 110, BB 100, Hits 148, Runs 110 Pardon me, Santana actually pitched in 30 games, he started 5 games.

Your AL + NL Top 5 For ROTY? If the season ended today who would you say is the top 5 for Rookie Of The Year in both leagues? I was also wondering who qualifies for Rookie Of The Year this season that played last season. Do the following players that played last season qualify for ROTY. Team - Last Seasons Stats Yankees - Joba Chamberlain - 19 Games - 24.0 Innings Pitched Red Sox - Jacoby Ellsbury - 33 Games - 116 At Bats Twins - Carlos Gomez - 58 Games - 125 At Bats (Mets) Finally, does anyone have a link that explains what it takes to qualify as a rookie. I believe it is a certain number of AB's for a batter but I am not sure and dont know about pitchers.

Do they telecast "Dugout View" baseball games in your town? Angels vs Mets were on Fox Sports Net. Their sister station FSN Prime Ticket carried "Dugout View" No announcers, only a couple of commercial breaks, only camera angles from the seats and natural crowd noise (they do have the normal stat graphics at the top of the TV screen). It was almost like being at the game except: - I usually don't take my favorite couch - or my own beer - or my own hot dogs - or my wife who keeps complaining that she doesn't know what's happening. I thought it was great
