Anybody know where I can find the standard deviations for baseball statistics for the 2005 season? This is for a statistics project. We're comparing individual players' statistics on the Giants, Mets, Yankees, A's, Marlins, and Dodgers for the 2005 season. Specifically, how their salary correlates with two primary statistics (Batting Average and # of Wins). Where can we find the MEAN and Standard Deviation of these statistics within the major league for the 2005 season so we can calculate P-values and Z-scores/T-scores?

Are the Yankees or the Mets a better team? which team is better? Since last year both teams failed to make the playoffs, they had identical records and their team statistics were almost exactly the same.
