In terms of leadership, have the New York Mets ever replaced Keith Hernandez?
It's been nearly 20 years since Keith Hernandez has graced the New York Mets' roster (and to most Mets fans, a long 20 years). While he was a Met, Hernandez was the ultimate clubhouse and on-field leader. He was the backbone of the 1986 championship team, and unofficially Davey Johnson's right-hand man (ironic since Hernandez was a lefty). To make a long story short...have the Mets ever come close to replacing Hernandez's leadership? Will they ever?

- No. People say David Wright can be that guy, but he's not a natural leader.
- david wright can be that guy, but when hes older do you really think that people like carlos beltran and delgado give a shit about what david wright says?
- Gee! I always thought that the 1986 Mets won because they were the best team in baseball that year. Keith Hernandez had maybe one great year, otherwise, he was pretty average. Big Deal. Where was Keith when the Mets usually failed?
