Why did the New York Mets fire manager Willie Randolph?

I just found out today that former New York Mets manager Willie Randolph was relieved of his duties as the manager of the New York Mets because of thier performance so far in 2008 and now have been replaced by Jerry Manuel. When was Willie Randolph fired from his coaching duties as the Manager of the New York Mets and why did the Mets fire him and replace him with Jerry Manuel.

1. Becuase he didn't deliver.
2. teams like to blame there slacking on managers. but if you look at the players stats individually, they do good in the worst times, like when they are up by a lot, and can't do **** when they are down by a lot. also if you own a franchise and a good team is doing bad, you don't blame the players you blame the coach for lineups being bad, not practicing right ect.

5. They were really starting to struggle and the owner of the Mets wanted to make a quick change before they started to lose too badly.
6. The team didn't get it done so they fired Willie. Its over with now, but the next 6 weeks should tell something, We'll see where they are on August 1 before we can judge whether or not it was the right move.

The Reason Why the mets fired Willie Randolph because the most important hitters wasn't doing there job at all such as, Delgado,Beltran,Reyes (Wasnt gettin on base as leadoff) and the pitching a disgrace. there best pitcher is 7-5 (Johan Santana) and everyone is injured El Duque isnt coming back until late july. pedro is acting like hes made of plastic. And Willie Randolph isnt doing nothing About it.And they Hired Jerry Manuel Because He Managed White Sox from 98-03. He was AL Manager of year in 00' So they think he could change the team around. But we need to wait atleast a month to see what he has with them.
