What options do the new york mets have this upcoming free agency?

I was thinking about signing a-rod and trading jose reyes for johan santana, what do you think?

  1. nooooo, a-rod is a bad omen, no team with a-rod wins.
  2. Id Like To See A Rod With Us Next Year But I Dont Want To See Reyes Traded Hes A Gamebreaker No Matter How Crappy He Finished The Year, The Team Collapsed Not Just Him. Milledge Will Be A Force Next Year. Carlos Delgado Will Be Strong Again. We Should Resign Castillo And Get Scott Kazmir And Livan Hernandez.
  3. screw the trade sign A-Rod move him or Wright to first (Wright has said he wouldnt mind) so its seems obvious to me
  4. so many different ways to do this if mets sign Arod: 1) trade Reyes for Santana ... not good 'cause we would have no true leadoff. Luis C. is not as fast as he once was. 2) Trade Wright for Santana.... This could work 'cause they both do the same thing, just one is better at it. The bad is - Is arod worth that much more than a "cheap David Wright? Could we afford to extend the contract of Santana and Arod and and Jose will be making alot of money soon. 3) Move wright to 1st... sounds good, but Carlos delgado is not worth enough to get Santana. We would have to give up Pelfrey/ Lastings or both to get him 4) This is what i want. Forget Arod. David,Jose should sign long term contracts w/ the mets. Trade for Santana (Pelfrey,Gomez) and sign him to a 4 yr extension. Find younger bull pen players
  5. I think that would be stupid Johan Santana is 29, A-Rod is 32, and Reyes is only 24. The Mets dont need their offense : they have it alrealdy. They dont need to go out signing 30 million free agents. BUY SOME PITCHING! If youre offense scored runs but you're pitching cant hold it in the bottom of the 9th then whats the problem? The pitching of the offense? The Mets dont NEED A-Rod. Save the money for Santana or trade for him in a deal that DOESNT include Reyes!
  6. They have as much money as any team except for maybe Bostn and the Yankess. they are definately looking for pitching which in my opinion is why they didn't win the World series last year and missed the playoffs this year. Pitching and defense wins at any level no matter how many bats you have. just look at the Yankess.... I would definately expect them to go after a few pitchers like Santana but probably not at the expense of Reyes who is young, and as talented as any player in the league...
