Is the Wilpons of the New York Mets the worst owners in baseball?

Hint: use the firing of Willie Randolph.

Public Comments

  1. No, the worst owners are here in Pittsburgh.
  2. after yesterday, i saw sure. I can't root for a team who would do that.
  3. yes they are. they spent all that money for a below par team, and used Randolph as the scapegoat. they didn't have the balls to come down and fire randolph themselves. they sent the gopher omar minaya (which should be the one who should have been fired) to do their dirty work. I thought Steinbrenner was bad, but these clowns take the cake
  4. Minaya firing Willie? That's his job. The Wilpon's are bad because they allow enormous sums of money to go to some bad players. They seem to like over the hill players with little left. El Duque, Alou, Delgado, Easley and before that Mo Vaugn. Even Pedro is getting up there. Minaya may have actually put the team together, but you would think that the Wilpons had to approve spending all that cash.
  5. No, but they're not very smart owners either. They had to sign off on Minaya bring in these overpaid over-rated stiffs. The worst owners in baseball are Texas and Pittsburgh.
  6. no the worst is either the pirates who are setting the gold standing for sucking and the o's who gives up before each season. hence all the stupid nation and yankees fans filing the park.
  7. yeah they are horrible owners
  8. Nah. Jeff Loria is the worst, and Peter Angelos is pretty far down the list as well. But the Wilpons are probably in the bottom quartile.
