Where do the mets stand on greatest colapses in baseball history?

I'm a met fan and i just feel like jumping off a cliff right now. I am ashamed of the mets. Absoultly potethic. They are not in a slump they are just a bad baseball team.

  1. It depends on what happens in the next couple of days. They still could possibly win the division. If that happens, this collapse will be forgotten. If they miss the playoffs though, it will rank with the '51 Dodgers, '64 Phillies, and '78 Red Sox. People will still be talking about it decades from now.
  2. N.Y. teams all suck! Baseball, Football, Hockey,.... You name it if it is from N.Y they suck. Even your sport's reporters suck.
  3. As a Cleveland fan, I would say about equal with the 2005 Indians, when we had to win 1 game out of 8, but we lost em all.... >=\
  4. If the mets lose this then I would have to say theyre at the top. The other possibilities are the Yankees in the 04 playoffs or the 1978 red sox. However, the Yankees only lost four games in a row which happens often in the playoffs, just not when the other team is 3 games down. The 1978 red sox was a bad case of choking however, there was no wild card back then so its not like they at least had the chance to fall back on that and also they were 14 games up at the all star break. If you look at the mets, they were 7 games up a little over two weeks ago, thats about as bad of a collapse as one could possibly have.
